Doral City of Flowers
As Valentine’s Day was approaching, I became curious and wanted to know more about this growing and thriving business in our own city. It turns out that:
- Doral‘s floral business began in the 1970s.
- Today, Doral is home to over 30 flower businesses that include wholesalers, florists, greenery‘s, and a very large import and export business.
- 90% of flowers imported into the United States come through the greater Doral area
- In 2021 alone, over 6.7 million stems were imported!
- This industry employs 6,000 people with peak season increasing significantly.
- We are grateful to these companies who have chosen to call Doral home!
